We're seeing stars at the Nurses' Day celebrations 2016

1/1/2018

Every 1 August, the nation celebrates Nurses' Day. It is a special day when Singapore salutes nurses for their contribution to our society.

However, the 2016 celebrations were a little different. Mediacorp celebrities, who starred in the Channel 8 nursing drama "You Can Be An Angel 2", surprised our nurses when they visited our healthcare institutions on 29 July and 1 August. After acting as reel-life nurses, our stars had a greater appreciation for nurses and the dedication with which they conduct their duties. The stars mingled with the nurses, shared their filming experiences, and presented them with exclusive #happinurse balloons. It was indeed a memorable Nurses’ Day!

#happinurse all around

For the 2016 Nurses' Day celebrations, the #happinurse installation roved around our public and private healthcare institutions. It was installed in high-traffic locations such as National University Hospital, Raffles Hospital and Singapore General Hospital.

Jack and Rai serenade our nurses

Nursing is a career for strong and passionate individuals. For the 2016 Nurses’ Day, the Care To Go Beyond team roped in popular local singing duo Jack and Rai to compose a song just for our nurses. The song, titled With You, celebrates nurses and shows how they truly are our heroes. It was complemented with a fun and heartwarming video featuring 11 of our nurses.

In the video, the nurses audition for a talent contest but face multiple setbacks. However, they persevere and overcome these challenges. The video ends with a scene of the nurses performing happily on stage with Jack and Rai. To date, the video has garnered more than 1.5 million views on YouTube.
