🚌 We said hello to our community care friends from NTUC Health Jurong Spring!

Besides the usual fun and games, the nurses were also treated to a scrumptious lunch to commemorate Nurses' Day. It was also a surprise for most of the nurses when they saw their favourite Mediacorp artistes swinging by the celebration to thank them for all the hard, and, heart work that they've done.

Hey nurses! In celebration of this year’s Nurses’ Day, #SingaporePools is giving out $5 Kopitiam card to all our nursing heroes. If you have gotten yours, snap a photo and tag us at @caretogobeyond!

We are also pleased to have Mr Lam Chee Weng, Chief Executive Officer of @sgpools, attend the Nurses’ Day celebration at Institute of Mental Health yesterday — where he presented the token to Chief Nursing Officer Ms Paulin Koh.

Thank you for the generosity, Singapore Pools!

To round up yesterday’s celebrations, we popped into the @nuhsofficial Nurses’ Day celebration where nurses and guests, who joined in physically and virtually, enjoyed colourful performances and witnessed the presentation of awards to fellow nursing colleagues. The evening celebration ended with a surprise visit by the Mediacorp artistes who wanted to take this chance to spread some #happinurse cheer to our nurses.

Where will the Mediacorp artistes head to next? Stay tuned to @caretogobeyond to follow the #happinurse celebrations as we countdown to Nurses’ Day this 1 August 🎉

Joseph Pang learnt about the Healthcare Merit Award (HMA) scholarship through a talk at an annual scholarship fair in school. After thinking it through, he was certain that he wanted to pursue nursing and felt that the scholarship would provide the opportunity to interact and learn alongside other like-minded scholars from various healthcare disciplines.

While applying for the scholarship, Joseph worked as a Healthcare Assistant at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, where he learnt more about nursing care and had a preview of what working in healthcare felt like.

“That experience helped me gain a clearer picture of what nurses do, and taught me the importance of good communication, teamwork and adaptability. Seeing how challenging the work can get also allowed me to empathise with the nurses and healthcare workers," shared Joseph.

The HMA scholarship recipient was also deeply impacted by how the nurses were committed to provide the best care to their patients.

“As I join the nursing profession, I seek to follow the exemplary character of the nurses that I will be working alongside with... I hope I too can bring comfort to my patients in their times of need," added Joseph.

Swipe to find out more about Joseph's story as a HMA recipient!
